How do i use orc weapons effectively?
In 100 hours i still have not figured out how to use orc weapons without making your mercenaries largely useless, what's the secret?

I'm thinking a light armour merc would be able to use them properly, but since the weapons weigh so much it kinda cancels out light armour weighing nothing anyway, has anyone tried orc weapons and succeeded? If so, whats your secret?

I think having heavy armour is much better than an orc weapon though, they just weigh too much

Equip orc gear to your Wildmen, plus, don't forget to carry on improving their fatigue.

Thats the way I did it.

High base fatigue
Level ups with talents
Iron Lungs +plus weapon mastery
High attack skills plus acc perks
as any miss is big loss of fatigue
Duelist and double grip for extra damage
Use him as finisher do not put him in main abttle line - leave hole that enemy can enter so he can be killed in one turn.
He should not be targeted so give him footwork so he can walk away

Iron lungs is the only way to go. dont waste your time on any other characters

Weapon Mastery means you can use a Man Splitter or a Berserk Chain without having Iron Lungs. The 1h weapons are definitely harder to use without tiring your men out too much.

Iron Lungs trait. You can use 2h Axe or 2h chain even without it. I don`t met use of any other orc weapon with good reason.

Best builds based on heavy armour, Battle forged perk, 2h sword (sometimes axe), Reach Advantage and good investment in melee defence.
Good build might be based on heavy armour, Battle forged perk, and shield. wich allow you to raise melee def up to 70-80 and travel to Ancient priest Orc Shaman or Necromancer trough the enemy without spending stamina on Footwork.
Another good build heavy armour, Battle forged 1h weapon(axe or hammer) Duelist. More damage to single enemy but more vulnerable becouse have no bonus from shield or Reach Advantage.
These builds have a ~dodge~ (not a perk) from melee def, and resistance from armour and 300 + armour points and 100-125 hp with Colosus perk.

Anything based on Nimble good for early or middle game and seems must be used with Dodge ( perk ) becouse shield decrease Nimble chance greatly. Survivability of this builds much lower, compare to heavy armour builds.

You don't actually need iron lungs to use orc weapons, their extra fatigue usage gets reduced by the weapon mastery. It's still higher but managable. The actual problem is the high base fatigue drain, so high fatigue backgrounds like hedge knights are prefered candidates. Although, it's possible with other mercs like swordmasters, just wear less heavy armor and use their awesome damage for berserk + kill + recover combo.

I haven't even thought of weapon mastery!

I'll try to make an iron lungs wildman with the chain

I have a Strong/Tough farmboy with a colossal HP and fatigue pool and weapon mastery (axes). He uses a Man Splitter to great effect.

I have another brother that uses a unique orc cleaver. He hits like a truck when I need to focus a single target down. Weapon master (cleaver) and duelist both go a long way.

Step 1: be an orc.

I thought the orc stuff was just for selling purposes with the exception of that beast crossbow cannon.
