Mass level 3 Nachzehrer
So I just encountered a contract with 9 Level 3 Nachzehrers. They basically ate all my brothers and I was left to fight 3 vs 20. Anyone find a solution to this?

Spearwalls? Large Nachzehrers are easy to hit, so should work to some degree even if unspecced.

I haven't encountered that personally, but spearwall with good archer support should do well against that lineup.

Spearwall, shield push, pike push but overall you need to kill them fast enough and keep them from bodies as they heal instantly they eat something.

run and if this doesn't help, run even faster

On a side note, the graphic at the end of a battle of a brother that got fully digested is pretty gruesome.

Lol yeah I had to reload and run. There's no way I can beat it.

First time I saw the digested animation too lol. God I love the art in this game

9 of those level 3s is ridiculous, lol!
I think the real solution is using footwork to move a step away. They need full Ap to swallow a bro whole apparently.

Most level 3 I've beaten was 7 I think. That was a brutal fight. Personally I think if they swallow a Merc whole they shouldn't be able to consume corpses to heal and get Confident morale. It would balance them better.

I usually lead them into House troop patrols (you can tell if there's L3's based on the group graphic). But otherwise, yeah knockbacks. They need to start the turn in base contact. So shieldbash, spearwalls, spiked impalers, pike repel and sometimes greathammer sweeps.

Strangely enough, I find that the bigger they are, the harder they are to hit.

I encountered the same thing but I was lucky enough to have both a roaming merc company and a noble infantry group in the area lol

maybe just cheese the group into high-tier npcs i guess.

How many turns before they die? I've never let them get to that point.

Depends on HP I think? Ignores armour, 15-20 damage per turn inside.
Something like that, I don't fight them that often.

Do they take damage while devoured? I know it damages their morale heavily, but it won't kill them (to my knowledge) unless you retreat - but then again I don't face them often.

Yeah. I'm not sure what the mechanic is, but the last time I fought them anyone who got gobbled came out with health damage (and undamaged armour).

The guy who got gobbled twice had about half health at the end, out of 80-ish. Its treated as environmental damage too (like being knocked off cliffs or being shield-bashed by orc warriors) so the amount isn't listed in the post-battle screen.

I think the first turn inside might count based on the Nazzie's turn, including the one they gobbled in?
