Noble War Question
I have encountered the late crisis Noble War for the first time, and my immediate thought concerns money and having enough of it....I would have thought that joining a side in the Noble War would net you some payments as you complete missions, but apparantly the only payment you get is when the War ends and your side is the victor. So money is becomming tight as I complete raiding and scout destroying missions, but get nothing in return....since you cannot freelance a few side quests in between battles, money and food will eventually run out...
So, is this the way it supposed to be or did I make a mistake somewhere? I guess I need to raid supply and trade carts for the duration of the war if this is the way it is meant to be....

You do get payments for completing contracts. Actually you get ridiculous amounts of money for taking really difficult war contracts.

Yeah. The warcamp contracts are 3 days without pay besides the sales of spoils.

I did notice that partway in, the bandit population exploded in some regions. I got a ton more contracts to deal with them.

You should be getting paid.
Contracts to do with the war effort come with a hefty pay cheque, and each one brings you closer to victory.

And you can freelance, as there should still be contracts available which don't have anything to do with the war.

Are you still actually doing the raid? It sounds like you went and destroyed the locations quickly, within just a couple of days, and now you're a bit confused.

You have to go out and raze the 3 locations, but you're still contracted for the full 5 days in the field. You can't return before then, but after those 5 days have passed you'll get a message saying it's time to report back.
You're supposed to hang out, privateering, until the contract is fulfilled.

Perhaps that's what confused you. Don't take those contracts unless you can afford to be out for 5 days without receiving payment.

My first quest was to destroy 3 or 4 locations and to attack all caravans and patrols within 5 days, i got a lot of money from selling the loot alone + 4000 gold reward. (normal difficulty though)

I joined the Noble War with a goal of elimininating the War which was at Raging...my contract paid me 1200 advance and 4600 when the war was over but perhaps I did miss something in the contract...I eliminated a Scouting Party=No Pay I Raided a Pig Farm=No Pay and then I participated in a large battle which reduced the War from Raging to Dragging On and it was here where I finally got paid..though the war is still on, I can now select non-war contracts again...I guess the strategy is to build up the war chest before rejoining the war....

If you do the privateering (raiding) contract they will give you 3 locations to raze. The pig farm was one of them. If you only destroyed the pig farm but not the other 2 locations they wouldn't have paid you.

I think you need at least 2 of 3 destroyed to get paid when you return after 5 days. Otherwise your employer will say "You didn't do what you were told, get out of my sight."

The contract jpfalcon is talking about is a warcamp one
Froblex Mar 16, 2017 @ 10:34pm
He says he got paid for the Warcamp contract, but previously didn't get paid for razing the pig farm. So I'm guessing he simply failed the Privateering contract before moving on to the Warcamp.

I failed a privateering contract once by razing 2 out of the 3 locations, but without destroying any patrol (ran out of time). I remember thinking: those two victories are miracles, and you still threaten to feed me to your dogs? Come on!

So yeah, 2/3 location destroyed is probably not good enough.

I think we all need 15000 crowns, 300 arrows, 200 repair tools and medcine to feel comfortable at war and don't lose time on non-related with war contracts. Just make some preparations and dont spend all your money on new legendary toy :)

From what he described (kill scouts, pig farm, major battle) that's a warcamp contract. Raided, not razed. You're required to get provisions which may or may not involve a fight.

Sorry if I confused some people as it reflected how confused I was....but yes, it was a War Camp contract and now I understand how it works. Very simply, as some above noted, before accepting going to a War Camp, you best make sure you are well stocked with food and have enough money to pay your mercs...

And as a side note, I think one thing I will do before rejoining the war is knock out some of the Brigand Companies and Camps that interefere with my War Quests...I guess they have spawned like salmon to reflect how Brigands run amok during times of war....
