None, if you read the story at the start you're wounded and don't take any part in battles.
There is no guild, it's more like you're the one who finds them jobs, manages their supplies, maybe helps with the wounded and hides like a little ♥♥♥♥♥ when actual fights start.
Thanks mate :)
Yes you manage the company without taking part in the battles as a single direct character.
You can have 18 battle brothers at once and 12 in combat at any given time. It is a good idea to have more then 12 battles brothers as you can put some in reserve if they get wounded and give them time to heal while still being able to fight a battle with 12 units.
Also if you happent to get a big ego and attack some goblins or orcs before you are ready, having extra ones is a big help when your 12 get slaughtered and you get to keep the game going with the ones in reserve, assuming you dont just reload your game!
Its a lot of fun, give it a shot.
