How do you get rid of a general?

Open the info for the army and there is a button like a boot that removes them from the army and you're prompted to replace them with someone else.

yeah, upkeep reasons. also sometimes i'd hire a general just to ferry troops, or as an emergency garrison (because they can be summoned instantly, and dwarf generals hit like a truck)

Dismiss any troops they have, either by booting them or by transferring them to another Lord, and once the Lord is a single unit, you can boot them from your game. Handy to get rid of unwanted Lords if you confederate.

1. Remove all unites. and remove the general like in other total war games
2. you don't fully assassinate/Fire your general, but you can replace him and he will be saved incase another egenral dies.

You boot them just like you get rid of any other unit in the army. Once all other units in the army are booted, hover over their placard and boot them like anyone else. Army will be dissolved and they will go back into your recruit able lord list keeping their skills. This also works the same way for getting rid of heroes.

Yeah, he should return to duty in a few turns or so (I think 4 turns, but I'm not sure). He'll appear there in the Recruit Lord list and, the best bit in my view, is that you won't have to spend anything to re-recruit him - you still have to pay the upkeep, but the initial recruitment cost is zero.

i just googled how to do this and this thread popped up, I have about 30+ dwarf lords in my campaign, its just me and the empire remaining against Archaeon who is sweeping the eastern empire,
after confederating the lastdwarf empire I have far too many lords without much an army leeching my income as my dozen+ other lords all have the brunt of my forces
