How to Ascend?

Should I be tossing gold into all the lower level characters beforehand to prepare for my first ascension? And when would be a good time to do it? I'm just getting past Zone 100, so I'm getting a bit curious as to where I go from there.

140? I keep seeing talk from 100~160, but I'll take your word for it. Are there any specific Ancients to go for first? From my current selection, Dogcog sounds the best for that price reduction...

depends if your going idle or active build

for idle build its: Siyalatas, Libertas, Mammon, Mimzee, Dora (ideally in that order)

I recommend going this route unless you can spend ALOT of time clicking (active build)

As in literally sitting there to click all day? Guess not. x-x Only one of those listed that I have on my current selection is Mimzee, and that doesn't really sound worth grabbing so soon.

You wanna get Siyalatas first (just reroll till you get him) then get Libertas soon after and level them pretty evenly. Also remember to always have some hero souls banked (a good formula for this is: Siyalatas² x 1.1

What do those do, exactly? And is Dogcog just useless then?

I really don't understand the formula all too well, considering I'm still new to this game.

Siyalatas: +25% to 15% DPS while idle (Down 1% every 10 levels).
Libertas : +25% to +15% gold while idle (Down 1% every 10 levels).

Idle = not clicking/using skills for 60 seconds

So it loses percentages when you level it up? That sounds...bad?

only after 10 levels (by which point they're already giving you 250% DPS and gold) then it decreases to 24% and so on.

its way better then the 2% hero cost reduction Dogcog gives you

Really? Still seems difficult to get many hero souls without the cost reduction. I mean, I'm at Zone 105 right now but I barely have 2 souls ready for ascension...

the early game can be a bit of a grind. All I can say is you need should aim for 8 to 14 hero souls on your first ascension (which you should mainly be getting through hero levels). then get Siyalatas and repeat.

So, is it recommended to level up the earlier heroes then? Seems like the only possibility, really...

Haven't even seen Frostbeast yet, so I guess I have at least week or so to go...

Haven't even seen Frostbeast yet, so I guess I have at least week or so to go...

If you still haven't ascended, around level 130 or so try to get all the starting dps guys like Treebeast, Ivan and Brittany and the other cheap heroes to a really high levels, as every 2000 hero levels you earn 1 hero soul on ascension.
EDIT: My first ascension was on the 140 wall and I gained 8 Hero Souls. I think 1 of the souls were from something else... anyways get atleast 5-7 before ascending.
