Idle on level vs shutting down for more cash

Well does idling on a level. or shutting the game down for the night get you more money? or is it the same either way? There has to be SOME incentive or bonus to leaving the game running vs shut down.

You earn more money when the game is off, unless you have ancients that enhance the active play (like Juggernaut).

You don't get any more cash for shutting down, and you also don't advance levels.

Every time you launch the game, you start at the level you shut down, with 0 monsters killed to get to the next level.

This is the same on the website as it is in Steam.

If you're just waiting to get enough gold to get your heroes strong enough to beat a boss, then go ahead and shut down. If you're far enough that you're progressing, then leave it running.

At best, the cash that you'll get from idling will progress you a few floors, nothing more.

Better do it yourself, or like others suggested, idle overnight for a good Juggernaut buff.

They're both roughly the same from what I've read, the only time you would choose offline gold farming is if the game gets too laggy for you and the advantage of farming idle while online is the chance of a clickable popping up which gives bonus gold and a chance at 1 - 2 rubies.

If you are needing to farm gold your best option is getting to a boss zone then shut down. The game will treat the boss zone as if it were a normal zone with enemies of that level so you will accumulate gold faster.

If you are already past a boss then either leave it on the highest zone you are on or push up to
the next boss.

Note that it is normally only worth farming gold to progress if you are still on your first few runs where it takes significant time to get up to zone 140, otherwise you are better off ascending for the souls(after maxing out the total number of hero levels you can afford) and doing another run.

offline farming is the worst out of the 2 options. mainly because you just can't level the heroes and thus be stuck with that dps and that gold income for the entire time. clicker heroes is not a typical idle game in the sense that you can just leave it running offline. the game is made to be rather active, if not clicking then upgrading your heroes etc.

Actually i found that if your killing the monsters too quickly and too many coins are dropping you will actually have some coins deleted unless you are actively picking them up so for instance your farming on say ommet and you manage to get grant and full level bubos or in other situations you will kill the boss so fast that the coins will be deleted to save memory because there are too many on screen also ancients like liberatas or siyvaltas i dont remember how to spell their names will work if the game is shut down because it considers you idle nabbing you the extra gold and dps from those ancients.

Offline Juggernaut is amazing. If your computer doesn't crash and you leave it alone for a day, you can come back and easily get through a ♥♥♥♥ ton of floors. I'm still on my second ascend and I'm probably going to reach the 1000s before I feel like ascending again XD

(tip; if you are going to leave the computer alone for a long time, push as far ahead as you can without leveling heroes for a while and get to a boss where you have to blow a bunch of cooldowns to get past so you can afk and you won't kill the level before the boss' floor so quickly that you don't get clicks counted)

It's only a graphical error, you still receive the money.
But in the offhchance that I'm wrong - if that's actually the case, then that money would be useless to you to start with. As it wouldn't provide you with enough cash to face the next wall.

Wouldn't you get more money by leaving the game on due to chests appearing? Or are chests accounted for when you turn the game off?

There is nothing that can guarantee that, but I assume they appear either way.
However, while chests make good money, the best way to make money without a doubt is by upgrading the chests appearance, golden clicks, gold, chest's health boost (during golden clicks) and double gold ancients. Then use golden clicks + metal detector whenever a chest appears.

In fact, this method is so good that you'll end up progressing quite a number of floors without noticing a single / very minor visible change in your cash value.
