I wouldn't even bother if the boss is primal. You only get like an extra 2 souls from a primal boss on 140, and in the time it takes you to farm enough gold to beat him without any souls banked, you could probably get 20+ by just ascending four times.
But i can buy juggernaut if i want
Why would you buy juggernaut if you are going with Idling ancients? You probably want Libertas.
Also, keep a few HS to boost your DPS, don't spend everything in ancients. :o
Well yeah, I don't think you should.
It's gonna help to get past some bosses, sure. But whenever you click you lose the bonus from your other ancient... Kinda a bad idea.
I'll use Siyalatas as an example, since the math is simple and the effects are easy to relate to. Each level it gets grants a 25% boost to idle DPS. Look at how many HS you have. If it's going to consume anywhere close to 25% of them, you can expect to lose DPS. When you have any doubts about wether an ancient level will benefit you, it's probably better to wait.
With actual numbers, let's say you have 100 HS banked. This effectively means you're doing 200% of your damage without any ancients. Regardless of what skills/levels you've bought, you're going to do 200% of whatever that is.
Now when you buy your first level in Siyalatas, it costs you, let's say 1 HS. Your damage from the HS bonuses is only going to be 190%, but with Siyalatas's damage boost, you'll be doing 237.5% of your original DPS without any ancients or HS, a 37.5% increase. Yay!
..but what about more?
Drop another 2 HS on another level, and your damage goes up to 255%. Wahoo!
Drop 3 more for another level, and our damage output drops to 245%. =(
Does that mean I should never get a third level in Siyalatas? No, it just means you don't have enough HS to make it worthwhile. Let's toy with the numbers a bit. Let's say you've been playing awhile, and you have 100 HS banked, instead of 10. That gives us a damage output, without ancients, of 1100%.
First level: +273.75%
2: 645.5%
3: 914.5%
4: 1090%
...
26: 4868.5%
27: 4873.5%
28: 4858%
29: 4821.25%
If you play long enough to get that many, you're not going to upgrade your ancients from 1 to level 27, but in this 'for example', the player's best balance would be to have Siyalatas at level 27, leaving them with 769 HS (from the original 1000)
Now, take these numbers for what they are, a really quick brain dump without any verification of accuracy, but that's more or less the idea behind how you figure out if you want to get that next level. Are the benefits worth more than what it's going to cost me to get it.
