As well, hero souls spent to buy an ancient are lost, no more dps boost. However, ancients can be upgraded using hero souls (like Morgulis) and still boost dps. In this case the hero souls you spend to buy the ancient are lost, but the hero souls you use to upgrade the ancient still boost DPS. Confused? :)
I think that since i've restarted, i'll keep them, hit the lvl 135ish and ascend again.
Probably better than spending them since they seem like the main asset.
Edit: haha you got me, ok so this is really strategic. But I don't see what ancient is good to get at the beginning.
I have Fortuna, the next choices are Docgoc, libertas, thusia and mammon...mmh xD
If you want to use an idle build (afk farming versus clicking madly) go for Libertas and Siyalatas. They give bonuses to idle gold rate and idle dps rate.
