Trouble with Windows 10

Since upgrading my computer to Windows 10 yesterday Clicker Heroes keeps crashing on start up, instead of starting it just shows a white window and then crashes displaying a error message about that it has stopped working and windows can't find you a solution.

Online version seems to work today but it didn't when I tried yesterday.

Anyone else with this problem or perhaps there is someone who could lend me a hand in solving this?

My specs are as follows:

Microsoft surface pro 2
Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4300U CPU @ 1.90GHz (4 CPUs)
DirectX Version: 12
Intel(R) HD Graphics Family

the problems might have been ironed out by the time you (a) checked this thread / (b) next played skyrim since windows upgraded

Nope still cannot launch game now that I upgraded to windows 10.

clicker heroes worked for a short time on my PC. Then it kept crashing upon opening every time. I switched to my laptop and it worked -- til a couple hours ago. Now no matter what I do, it just crashes and closes again. I wish I had saved to the CHS txt file save. I can play it on the browser but my progress wont be current. Bummer....

Clicker Heroes should work fine on WX without compatibility mode or administrator privileges, given it's working fine for me with neither. It's built on adobe flash so try updating your flash player and *shudders* Adobe AIR.

The issue of the not being able to use the multipliers is down to a toggle added from 8 onwards, you need to open the mouse settings and turn off the delay under touchpad for it to work.

I've updated flash and air as someone suggested, but still clicker wont work for me. I've had enough. I wish they would link the progress between the site and steam cos I've lost progress cos I didnt save an update to file. Its too much of a faff to think to save it so often cos u expect steam to do that. I ascended twice on the steam version of the game since I saved manually. Now I've lost that and any relics/rubies I got. I dont think I can be bothered anymore. Thanks, glitches, well played on putting me off playing

Guess it's time to verify the file integrity through Steam if that didn't help, because that's starting to suggest a corrupted file as there's nothing special about my WX setup on this laptop.

Also with the WX upgrade you might need to check the actual save isn't read only afterwards (Windows upgrades screw with permissions pretty much every time), that happened to me and I lost half a week of work.

I did verify. It said they all checked out. I tried removing the run as admin, and the version compatibility, and it opened fine. I guess the run admin thing was a temp stop-gap

Verify ur Game at Steam. I use Win10 and have no Problems.

already deleted the local content + reinstalled, but will try.

As i said, it was working fine yesterday or so.
Had trouble with other games already, there reinstalling the 2005 Visual C++ thingy did the trick..

I had the same issue when I went to windows 10. I reinstalled steamand all my games. I would up the virtual memory first. Another issue could be Ram when I changed to windows 10 it had so much useless extra crap running that it ate 1/2 my ram. I would go through and turn all the w10 addons you dont need off

I'll se if i can get it running again, but on an Alienware with 8GB ram from last year (+ dedicated Hard drive for steam games) it should be running fine, but had some issues with the november update of windows 10. If it wasn't for the great feature of xbox one streaming and the time it takes i'd be back to win8.1

Not sure why you're blaming Windows 10, my laptop is about 3 years old now and I haven't had any issues with Clicker Heroes, on 8.1 or 10.

Got it working with admin rights; blaming windows 10 since it started malfunctioning since yesterday. Only thing i did then was update windows 10 to the 1511 upgrade.
And also cause that upgrade broke other games for me as well. (witcher 1 for example, 2 hour searching to find a 5 second fix)

Yep I guess every laptop or PC is different then. Cos EVER since I upgraded to Win10, I have HAD to play clicker heroes through browser. Even now, I will click on the steam game, and it will start loading then just crap up and shut down due to loading error message. Sack with it. I guess I'm just unlucky when it comes to gaming on Win10. Maybe in another year, windows MIGHT actually iron-out these bugs.

And @SMthegamer, yes there *is* reason to blame win10 at least partiallhy, for some of us. We never had problems like this until we upgraded. Yes, the other part of the difficulty is the machine we are running it on and the software/hardware it uses. You are just extremely lucky to have a system that is fully compatible (and so cant understand why we are geting the problems. Cant understand if you dont experience them). There is obviously a conflict between Win10 and the system some of us are running, a conflict that one would think might have been addressed, with the amount of crash reports we send back to microsoft - assuming that microsoft even *receives* them..

Most of my steam games will work fine with minimal changes to permissions, but games like clicker and skyrim require me to have Admin and Win7 compat options checked - even tho it is widely thought that said options should have become obsolete on Win10...
Even then, clicker wont work so I guess thats that. Cant do anything about it.
