only one hero soul? no assend

hello

ok firstly played this game off steam for a while,
but dont remember the specifics.

I havent assended yet, but im at lvl 200+
I have fought many bosses that say i get 2 souls then 4 then 6 souls
each time I beat them (first try) i get no souls
just the 1st soul from the first boss that gave it

most of my heros are lvl 1000 or higher on the top
as you get down around 700-800 lvl

im mowing through but still the souls arent stacking up

do i need to assend to get more than 1 soul

did i mess up by killing these bosses (aka did i miss out on the souls?)

i fear assending before i get my heros to a specific lvl, as i know i can roll for characters on the assend
so im waiting for around +20 HS in lvls from hereos before i assend

any help tips or info on this 1 hero soul issue?

most times I also leave the game open as i sleep or work etc just to get fish (have my daughter come click them once in a while lol

You need to ascend to get more souls (in fact it should say ascend for +X under your 1 soul). The one you have is from the achievement for beating the zone 100 boss, Omeet, not the one from the boss. You didn't mess anything up, that's just how the game goes.

yea i mean, i fought many bosses that say for example the lvl 200 boss, was 6 souls i think or 4 something like that

my character lvl if i ascend, says i get 23 hero souls if i do,
just wanted to get a wicked hell of a start on my 1st ascend lol
just odd that the other mobs dont give the souls as stated, even if i beat a boss,
not sure if the hero lvls are whats showing or if those are souls earned from bosses

again says +23 if i ascend now, but is that from bosses? or from hereos or both combined I dont recall.
thought bosses gave instant souls but i believe i was on my 1st ascend when i did that off steam.

prolly should ascend just waiting for 2 more of my characters to get to lvl 1k then ill drop off for the 1st ascend.

lemme know about the HS's under my 1
if its the combo of heros lvls + boss's etc

the +23 souls is from BOTH bosses (most of them are going to be from this) and hero levels since Souls are Souls. Bosses do not give instant souls but Quick Ascension does give instant souls.

In my opinion you have wasted ALOT of time by going above 140 before your first ascension but hey you are the one playing your game and not me.

meh most time, im just working or idle so not much time wasted in reality
or such as playing other games n coming back to it.

my main thing was to gild hereos before starting the new
i know it boosts + hs = kick and rage on the monsters on 1st ascend,
wasted time well yea vs efficency but, meh its just cause i did it the other way so many times id figure id try it this way this time on steam hehe

just didnt know how much changed if anything, seems not much did

any personal recommendation for HS and guardians, normally 1st ascent I keep HS's and no guardians as its 10% per HS. im looking at about 250% dmg on first ascent lol
and most of my heroes are x3 x4 gilded from just clicking fish (ty to my kid lol)

You only get the hero souls listed on the battle screen when you Ascend.
The hero souls in the ancient section are souls sacrificed in a Transcesion for Ancient Souls which are totally different.

As Telfram said below you have to Ascend to actually get the HS from Primal Bosses or Merc Quests. At the top of your screen, right below the line showing the HS count you have to spend on Ancients, is a 2nd line reading "Ascend for xxx". This separate HS count/amount increases with the souls earned from Primal bosses or Merc Quests. When you Ascend those are moved into your spendable HS amount so that you can spend them on buffing the Ancients.

When you Transcend (something mentioned by Telfram) all the HS earned up to that point are converted to Ancient Souls and you spend Ancient Souls on buffing Outsiders (on a different tab from the Ancient tab). Once you get to zone 300 you should Transcend.

Edit to add.. so, I just read the original responses to this 3+ year old thread and they say essentially the same thing I just typed out... the very first response actually.
