Is the double damage worth it?

it pretty much comes down to either keep buying quick ascends or getting the double damage.
Has anyone put some thought to it yet?

YES! I just picked it up while on my deepest run ever before, 239 and was slowing down but figured it grind and wait for one more ruby..... now breezing up to 260! I can only imagine how fast I will move up on my next restart.... plush 81 HS (my biggest instake ever before! w00t)

no. i think double of the dps is made by doubling the dps. costs no rubys.
same as the 8-hours to the future thing, u get it by waiting 8 hours and its free,
or ascendation with rubys... just ascend normally and its free.
if you are on a point where 1 hero is like 90+% of dps, just buy 25 more of it and you have almost 4 times the dps, not only double. u see, every 5 minutes you double your dps, so why pay a ruby?
the only thing to buy with the free rubys is 3 gilded heroes. they stay forever and there is no other way to get them.

when i read: i was 239 and now 260+ .... i only think: same would have been after next ascension because of the new souls. or after returning to the game after 8 to 16 hours with the money.

if it would be: register in the clicker forum to get lifetime double dps, i would do it,
but waste rubys for it? never!

see it like this: every 10 stages the healt points of the monsters double.
so whats 1 time in life doubled dps worth? nothing. or 10 stages.
you do not double, you make 1000 times your dps every ascension, what does 1 double mean to it? nothing, so its not worth 1 ruby.

it sounds like "double" - oh, wow, cool !
but it does not mean when u normally reach stage level 1000 after buying it you will get to 2000.
it more means when u can get to 1000 and buy it , you can get to 1010.
simple math.
(maybe the HP of monsters doubles every 5 stage levels, i did not look for it)

So many wrong statements in one post from someone with 173 hours on record for clicker heroes.. Don't listen to this guy. He does not even seem to know that you get tons of gilded just from beating zones after 100. Buying them for gems is a waste.

And double damage is permanent 1 time purchase as was stated before and there's really no reason why you shouldn't just get it. I'm going to buy it at the end of a deep run to push past my old record.

After that its back to quick ascends cuz those are great.

just an fyi, my record atm is 1408 which I will definitely break 2morrow.
But what I want to say is that I still consider myself a newbie as well after some 1000 hours.
The zone i'm at is nothing compared to some people.

Same boat lol, just reached zone 200 today - 100 hours in xd as it's a one-time purchase I'll def be buying the 2x dmg when I save the rubies

Out of curiousity, how many souls do you have? I have 100 000 souls, and I so far invested ~75000 souls in ancients.
