Why is this so addicting?
I have never played a clicker game until this one. I am hooked, really like the fact you can let it run while you do other tasks and then come back loads richer.

Because it shows you positive progress constantly. I wouldn't call it addiction directly as you will lose your interest to it the less you play it rather than not standing it anymore not being able to play it.

But it definitely sucks you in. Congratulations on your first clicker game, now you need to retrieve your soul.

Also known as the Skinner Box theory. Only here it's just with positive feedback.
This theory is used in many "small" games to make you hooked.
