Game crashes immediately on start - UnityPlayer.dll error

Just got a new (to me) desktop and did a fresh install of Windows 10. Got all the drivers updated. I'm running a Ryzen 7 3700X with a Geforce RTX 3070, if it matters. The game opens, I click the Play button and within a few seconds I get the Unity error screen and it shuts down. Event Viewer shows the error to be related to the UnityPlayer.dll file. I've did all the Googling and tried numerous suggestions but nothing seems to resolve the issue. Any ideas?

i also wrote to [e-mail] but all i got was:
