Why Ponyboy at all?

As the title says, I am wondering why it makes sense to put so may ancient souls into Ponyboy.

From my understanding, the amount of hero souls acquired via the "normal" part of primal bosses (the part which is determinded by boss level + level of Atman) is rendered obsolete from level 1000 onwards, from where 99,99% of your hero souls are acquired through the transcendence power reward.

--> Is this necessary to speed up the "early game" after transcending, or just related to the fact that the cost of leveling other outsiders does increse over time, costing more that one AS at some point?

I am currently sitting on 60+ AS, and was wondering if it is still necessary to put any AS into Ponyboy at all.

Ponyboy essentially increases your HS income at all points in the game, though its effect is more noticeable in the early-game. Later on (by that, I mean 500+ AS or something like that), your amount of HS sacrificed and your HZE will be so high that the main way of speeding things up is by investing in Ponyboy (and also investing in Borb to make each transcension worth more AS). At least, that's the way I see the super-late-game even though I'm not there yet.

The two only Outsiders who have increasing costs are Chor (levels 1-10 cost 1 AS each, levels 11-20 cost 2 AS each, and so on) and Phandoryss (cost = next level).

In your case, having at least a level 19 Ponyboy will be good enough for a while. As for why Ponyboy helps a lot, it's because Solomon affects the amount of HS you'd get from TP (Transcendence Power).

pony increases both sources of souls. normal and transcedanc power reward.
so it s never totally obsolete.

not an underlying vlue, it strictly multiplies solomon which strictly multiplies what souls you get from both source.

Lazy guess here, but Ponyboy likely references the character of the same name from the book and subsequent movie "The Outsiders."
