"Max"-ed Chronos and Dogcog?

When I leveled up my ancients this ascension I put in over 150 levels into Chronos and Dogcog and their respective output appear to have remained unchanged.

At first I thought perhaps the description remained the same but upgrading them allowed me to go to deeper zones but just realized that's not the case. I'm hitting the same wall in boss fight timers at the same point in the game during idle (~1.9-2.0 seconds per boss fight)
Both descriptions state no maximum level but it looks like I'm not going anywhere even though I've upgraded both of these considerably.
Did I miss an announcement or am not understanding how these 2 work?
btw, I know I can increase their effectiveness with Outsiders, I'm focusing on the "no maximum level" even though it appears I'm hitting a wall.

Update: I'm aritifically hitting a wall because I can't extend my boss fight timers. :/

Oh wow, thanks! I had done a search but didn't see this in the results or else I wouldn't have posted this.
This sucks in a way. Even though I have enough HS to warrant 1 or 2 more ascensions (normally), if I can't improve the boss fight timers, looks like I'll have to transcend and upgrade the appropriate Outsiders.
Well, at least I know now.

Update: After Transcending and leveling up Chronos to just level 15, it is already more than it was at level 900+. Previously topped out at 119 seconds and now at level 15 it's at 137 seconds. ;)

FYI. I have found it good practice to hold off spending a fair amount of AS after Transcending. When I finally get back to pushing my HZE I can review what kind of things are throwing up barriers to pushing my HZE and then start bumping up the corresponding Outsiders accordingly.
