Progression Won't Stop?
Is there any way to stop the game from advancing to bosses it can't beat? I want to leave the game on a level where gold can be farmed, but I keep coming back to a losing boss fight. (This is with auto progression mode turned off.) I hate missing all those hero souls from primals!

I have the same problem, this game does what it wants, i put the autoclicker on
and set farm mode next time i start it up to find out it disabled my autoclicker and
advanced 5 levels and that really slows down when the heroes are not leveled up
constantly, and it is set to farm mode but it just ignores it when i go offline.

The player settings should be the primary concern don't mess with it, EVER :steamfacepalm:.

You always farm more gold on the higher level, even if it takes ages for the mob to die...

Also, auto clickers do not stick when you close the game, there is no way to program that due to clicking combos and exponential click increase for each auto clicker from the 5th one upwards.

That shouldn't be, do you close the game and it starts there when you open it again, or is it when the game is still running?
(When it's during the game still running then I can't think of why it would happen, if it's when you close the game, maybe try leaving it on the desired Zone for a minute or something before closing it? The way the game saves is kinda weird, sometimes I close it for the day after Ascending and Re-Gilding to the next best Hero so that I get the most off of my Offline progression and when I open it back up the Gilds are back to the Hero I took them from.
Maybe the game saves the progression mode status before the Zone progress?
(So it saves that you set it on Progression off, but saved the Zone progress on the Boss level you couldn't defeat?))

Hi, i understand you say that it farms more, might be the case
i didn't check, but if you leave it farming a boss for example
that gives you more gold for sure, i checked that, the boss dies
in a few second and drops more gold per minute than the mobs,
the game just ignores it and goes tot the next boss or one level
lower if it cannot beat that, but it's annoying that in
offline it advances even though i selected farm mode,
should stay there until i come back.

If autoclickers don't work offline than that is a point
down in score, it's stupid, why would i buy those then,
what's the point, bad design, but thanks for the info.

Fearless

In game progression farming works just when
i go offline the game disables it.

I checked the save file from steam cloud, the game saves
every minute, i set the autoclicker and the farm mode and
waited 5 minutes then exited, each time i come back it greets
me with the message how much gold i got and that i advanced 5 levels.

Okay, let's clarify a bit.

1. Fearless, you have +7k hours in the game but seem to miss some of the important issues.
When it comes to saving, the game does save the current state about every five minutes. Having said that, some things like performing ascencions/trancensions and getting rubies/autoclickers are directly registered.
So if you want to make sure you are saving correctly, wait at least two minutes after your last action before closing the game. (This does include re-guilding, sending out mercs on a quest, leveling our ancients etc.)

Also, please do make regular manual backups of your games' save file using the game settings menu! Steam Cloud does not work perfectly with this game, no reason to risk all of your progress.

2. Rasa and Aldo: As you are fairly new to the game, you will hit a wall where you are unable to progress further quite early, as you have described.
There is not much value in 'farming' gold at that point, maybe to push five more zones.
You would want to ascend as soon as you are getting stuck, if you have gaines a decent amount of hero souls. Also, you should read some FAQ on the early game, found somewhere in this forum or better yet on the clicker heroes subreddit to make sure you do your first transcension at the right point.
There are many tiny things which will speed up your progress, including: Joining a clan for the daily reward to be used at the start of a new ascension, the QA mechanic (Quick Ascencion using rubies), mercenary quests and tricks on when to turn them in, switching to full active playstyle using autoclickers (requires game to be running!)...

Hope this does help you a bit, I did not want to throw all the details at you right now as it involves a fair amount of reading. The game does only get metter the more you get into it and all the more you get used to all of its' mechanics.

Thanks for the tips, I do understand about ascending when hitting a wall though... I play both on PC and mobile, quite a bit more on mobile. My concern is more that on both platforms the game will proceed to that wall while I'm not playing. Once I'm on again it's simple enough to level up heroes or ascend as needed, I just wish the game would leave me at the level I left and not skip ahead to the wall because I feel I've missed out on a great many hero souls because of it.

Don't worry, saving manually after every Transcension.
However I didn't really miss it, otherwise I wouldn't have suggested waiting before turning the game off. That Ascensions are instantly saved however is false. Before 1.0e11 (When the game only told you how many AS you'll get after ascending because it didn't calculate in the HS gained during the current ascension) I ascended multiple times to see how many AS I'm off my current goal and how many more HS I need to reach it. (Which was kinda important because I always want an even number so getting 1 AS more or less would mean having to do another full Ascension.)
Not sure about Transcensions though.
