Every 5th zone/level, there's a "boss" monster. This "boss" monster has X times as much health as if it was a normal monster (X slowly increasing as you reach higher zones, starting off at 10 I think). Bubos can decrease X in that calculation, though the "boss" will always have at least 5 times as much health as normal monsters regardless of how much Bubos decreases X.


In other words, there's a "boss" monster every 5th zone/level with extra much health, and Bubos can help decrease that health, making it take less time to kill the "boss" monster.


As there's a time limit for each "boss" monster, Bubos making the "boss" have less health also makes it easier to kill the "boss" before the time runs out.
