Idle or active click?

i was wonder if its best to go idle or use the Auto clicker?
i got 3 auto clickers..

This is a very old thread and a lot has changed with the game over the past 3 years. Active is now always better than Idle. If you can't play Active (because you play on a phone or you don't want to leave your PC on all the time with the game running in a minimized window) then the suggestion is to play Hybrid (Idle until you stall out and then go Active until that stalls out).

The reason that Active is better than Idle is based on the fact that there are more Ancients and Skills that benefit an Active play-style than an Idle play-style:

Active Ancients:
Bhaal (+ Critical Click damage)
Fragsworth (+ Click damage)
Juggernaut (+ DPS per click combo)
Pluto (+ Gold from Golden Clicks)

Active Only Skills:
Clickstorm (activates 1 (2 when Energized) temporary AutoClicker)
Lucky Strikes (+ 50% (100% when Energized) chance for Critical Click)
Golden Clicks (Clicks give + % increase in Monster gold)
Super Clicks (+ 200% (400% when Energized) Click Damage)

Idle Ancients:
Libertas (+ Gold from Monsters when Idle)
Nogardnit (+DPS from unassigned Auto Clickers when Idle)
Siyalatas (+DPS when Idle)

Idle Only Skills:
There are no Skills that benefit only an Idle build... if a skill benefits Idle it benefits Active as well.

Once you have a couple Autoclickers (5-6 is optimal, anymore more than that is a waste of rubies) then using them essentially puts you into a meta-Idle play-style; you no longer have to actively click anything and instead let the Autoclickers do the actual work of clicking while you go off and do something productive with your life.

I am not positive, but I think an Active play-style will clear more zones per hour than an Idle one will. When playing Active and when I have only 2 Monsters/zone I can clear just over 8,300 zones in an hour of Active clicking.... I think Idle will clear significantly less zones per hour.
