I usually just get Midas to about 13550, or whatever he is when Wepwawet reaches 6000, where he does more damage than anyone until Tsuchi is available.
Good to know, that was my plan. I went to 6k with Wepwawet just to see if he outdps'd midas, and didnt come close. I'll be sticking with Midas for sure now.
If Wep can get to 2000 straight, I go directly with Midas, if it can't, I move to Wep to stretch some more zones before ascending and eventually switch to Betty.
In later ascensions, if I can get to 1e500 in a straight way, I will skip Wep entirely and go from Samurai to Tsuchi directly; this applies for future ascensions too, as soon as I can unlock next heroes to Tsuchi without moving from Samurai, I will skip Tsuchi too, etc etc.
Usually, when I gather up around 1000 gilds, and my ascensions begin with more than 1e60 golds, I will switch from Samurai to Atlas as beginning hero, and to Alabaster after 1e150 golds.
Depending on how ahead in the game you are (or you will be) you will even be able to begin your ascensions directly using Wep. :)
1.428e343 - 12550
5.727e343 - 12575
1.865e367 - 13550
7.474e367 - 13575
2.058e376 - 13925
1.324e378 - 14000
5.306e378 - 14025
And for Wepwawet, where each group corresponds to the same upgrade cost:
3.516e343 - 5000
1.413e344 - 5025
1.275e368 - 6000
5.122e368 - 6025
3.622e376 - 6350
9.420e378 - 6450
As you can see, Midas does less damage for the money after Wepwawet reaches level 6000, even when Midas reaches 14000 and gets a 10x boost.
If you're getting less after moving a ton of gilds, then you either haven't ugpraded your gilds sufficiently, or you have too few hero souls to handle moving that many gilds, or both. Your drop in damage came from elsewhere, because the hero damage is as I stated.
On a idle build you dont need to use Wep once he gets to lvl 2000...
and from that point you can ride Midas to Tsuchi..... : )
