How do i edit text in existing events

New player (??? programmer ???) here I have no gosh darn clue what I am doing. I'm trying to edit my tutorial npc's name because I don't like just "villager" but I can't figure out how to edit any of the text, or delete any of the text for that matter. When I double click the top TEXT line, I can see the dialogue options for the player in "show choices" so I know the text is connected to the right thing, but I can't see the text I wrote in "show text" or "show scrolling text" + I can't just click on the text itself because every option on the drop down menu is grayed out.

I'm sure the answer is simpler than I would expect, I just don't have enough braincells to figure it out myself. If my post isn't clear and you don't know what the hell I'm talking about, please feel free to ask some clarifying questions.

You RIGHT-click on it and choose "Edit".
