Play test button not working (solved)
I made a map and I then went to click the Play Test button (or ctrl + R), but nothing happened.

I solved it with the option to verify the integrity of game files. A file was missing.

Got the same problem: Play Test, Sound Test and Battle Test all won't work. Problem is, I tried verifying my files and steam finds one missing and downloads it. If I verify again, everything is fine. The tests still don't run though and after trying and THEN verifying the file is missing again.

RPG Maker needs to be completly closed when you verify Game Data.

If the downloaded file goes missing before it can be accessed, it may be being quarantined by your antivirus/antimalware.

Thanks for the tip. Apparently Kaspersky has some sort of issue with the play test. Once switched off it works fine. Now I just have to figure out WHY it does that...

Finally found the problem. Apparently, despite me telling it to leave the thing alone, KIS banned the maker exe from doing pretty much anything. finally running as intended. yay

Yay! \o/

It might be objecting to the game script files located in your project folder(s)...might be worth marking each project folder "trusted" as well to see if that helps?

Hi. I'm having the same problem. I've worked with RPG Maker VX Ace before and never encountered a problem like this. I also did the file integrity check but it said all files were in place. Any idea on how to fix this?

It's not an old project I just started. Everything stated in the announcement you pinned was correct in my files. I'm running windows vista if that might have anything do to with the problems.

In that case your system doesn't meet the system requirements as listed on the store page...you may need a more up-to-date PC to run RMMV.
