Unfortunately, No MIDI (or .mp3) support
I'm probably part of the niche here. But my previous ACE project actually used some rather nice MIDI BGM files.

But it seems that this engine doesn't support MIDI audio format by default?
Maybe I'm just missing something, or hopefully there a way to modify MV to include MIDI audio support?

If not, does anyone know of a method of turning a MIDI file into a supportable format? Perhaps even something as rough as recording the MIDI in a seperate audio program?

I didn't know midi didn't work in MV. O.O" Hm, that'll be a trouble.
You could try Audacity to convert them, although that might take some time. There might be online websites that allow you to upload your midi files and convert them to something else like .wav or .mp3?

Well actually, considering that MV does not support .mp3 file either, perhaps I shouldn't be surprised.

I'm only found that out just now, but MV seems to only support .ogg and .m4a audio files.

Midi is not a supported format in the HTML5 specifications, and mp3 is bound to certain licenses.

So, it's possible to develop a plugin to support midi if i want to make an .exe only game? I mean, there's no license problems in doing this?

Take a look at MIDI.js

It seems nice.

Ogg files are more common these days. I believe the program called Audacity, free, can convert those MP3s to Ogg for you.

MIDI files are very dependent on a few things, playing them on two computers can get different results.

I have only seemed to be able to get .ogg to work, if you need you can use a converter.
Midi to OGG: http://www.zamzar.com/convert/midi-to-ogg/
or everything to OGG: http://audio.online-convert.com/convert-to-ogg

ok, an old thread, but can you really use MP3 in rpgm MV or will be there license problem with Frauenhofer? i think you even need to pay for a specific numbers of your designed game copies. If you sell more you need to pay more, but maybe i am wrong.

Is OGG supported? or let's say so: which formats are free for all and used by MV and they don't need an extra license?
