The linked script simply takes multiple maps and combines them together.
If you had a 20x20 map and connected it with another 20x20 map, it would be no different than having a 40x20 map from the beginning.
Scripts do not "teleport" you. If that happens, that's because you created events to perform the teleport.
Regarding the "as far as you know" - with Himeworks one of the most prominent scripters for VX Ace that indicates that you took next to no effort to look at even the biggest and best-known sources for VX Ace scripts.
The problem with mobile is that a map must be stored entirely in memory. iOS devices range from 256MB RAM (4th generation iPod) to 4GB RAM (iPad Pro.) Android devices are often worse with weaker GPU parts. Both iOS and Android have 100MB size limits for Cellular, anything larger has to be downloaded over WiFi.
