Report a translation problem
At this point I think it would be easier to use Unity. Creating a hidden object game with it would take, literally, just a few hours (if you already have your artwork and such).
Many different genres have been made with VX Ace and other previous RPG Maker editions but like Ellye pointed out, there are numerous engines far better suited to an art-intensive hidden object game.
SOME more advanced effects could be simulated by the events or mixing in tiles as well, only the rather tricky modern functions might require scripts (have played some hidden object games but they're not my preferred game type, so I don't know what's considered "state of art" there.
