Anyone still uses QABS plugin?

I know there are other action style plugins out there, but QABS still works fine for what I'm creating... except for one issue:

If your lead character dies, game over

I wanted to switch the dead leader for the next alive character, already created a small code for that and it works BUT QPopup doesn't initialize properly and once you switch back the previously dead character (either alive or still dead) it throws the following error:

Cannot read property '_tilemap' of undefined

Now I've been stuck for a long time trying to fix this, switching off QPopup entirely solves it but having no damage displays for anything makes the game much worse.
Looking for help with the error or maybe another function to switch off characters when you die, instead of a total game over.

edit: Nvm fixed it after months being haunted by editing just one line of the code
