-Is just not many people make a good use of it.
Game is a game, graphic is graphic.
RTP is a great set, which basically includes everything you need to make an awesome RPG. However, the same graphics are used by thousands and thousands of other devs, who might not make a great game with it.
Doesn't mean you can't make something great with it.
The other way is true too: Buying expensive, super awesome graphics, doesn't mean you automatically have a great game on your hands. Just like with RTP, you still can make genious games with it, but also crappy nonsense games.
What you do with the graphics, that is so much more important than the graphics you use.
I've seen a game where the graphics were drawn by kids with crayons, then scanned and used as assets. The graphics were really as bad as you might expect, but because the idea was so genious and those horrible graphics were used so well, it was still an amazing game to see.
one title was going to be a remake of a horror game TheUnproPro put out on youtube a long time ago but was lost. another was a detective like game finding clues with some supernatural added into it but didnt make it past the mechanics part.
this current project i have going now is actually a fantasy fic i had made up in my head (its been reworked like 5 times at this point) and is something I'm pushing through with as mentioned in the original post. scripting is all done through yanfly plug-ins but im sticking with the basics for now before i try and tweak visuals or layout.
I cannot say when 'll have a build made to put out on this as its still very early in development and will be quite some time before being uploaded to the workshop for testing. If interested in what my project in VXAce was going to be like by all means ask away, i honestly did well with the development considering i went event crazy with it and somehow made it work it was just lacking a story as it was generic AF and the characters felt the same and supreme edge lordness radiated off it.
