Let's talk about our most wildly ambitious ideas!
Rather than ask people for help, it sounded like fun to hear what effects, cut scenes, complicated attacks and other wild ideas people want to work into their games (Whether or not they have the technical skill to execute it!)

Personally, I have this idea for a scene where the environment builds itself in front of the player. Sort of a dream sequence where the room starts out black, then the floor, walls, bed, dresser and all those sorts of things fall into place.

I'm fairly confident it's doable, I just haven't been motivated to try yet as the amount of events involved just sounds like way too much work :D

That is not a question devs want to answer. :p Well, not before they are finished with that idea. The biggest mistake a dev can make, is telling everyone their plans and ideas before working them out themselves.

Fair enough if people are nervous, but ideas are the easy part, execution and follow through are a lot tougher! (I say from ample experience with struggling to get basic events working :P)

Neat idea to have a build-able room like that. It would certainly need a lot of event movements planned out. If I had an idea to share it would be a map based army battle. I've worked on some thoughts in the past on that, but when I had misconceptions of how the MV event system worked so I need to go back to the design board on that.

I disagree. A good idea is half the work. I have seen easy made games which were just genious, and I have seen games that took a year of someones time and it is still a wreck.

About your idea of a room that builds up in front of the players eyes. It sounds great, but I wonder how you would realize that. Wil you make animations of funriture building itself, or a wall being build by invisible hands?
I hope to see one day how that idea works out.

The first thing that comes to mind with your idea, is you might be able to achieve that with parallaxed maps. Like different layers. It might be doable or with a plugin to fade the layers in honestly lol. Finding something specific like that might be tough though! Or the easy way(which I'd do), you could get the pieces into an art program, then after the scenes are made, just throw them into a video editing program and make the fading room scene there. Then when it's done just add it to your game and boom :D

The hardest part was getting the plugins to play nice so far haha. I've made/been making special attacks for my own game, and it was tough at first since there's not a ton of specifics about adding videos mid combat/with common events to trigger them. (You can see the attacks I'm talking about on my steam profile, I don't want to link it and annoy people so you can just go see it if you want :P) So yeah, the tons of unexplored areas were the wild idea part for me :dcurse:
