D&D type magic system?

So if I wanted players to be able to find spells to use, I know I can use things like 'learn on use' effects that the game has already. But how hard would it be to have one list of all the spells a character knows, but limiting what a player can use by pre-loading the magic?

Easist way to explain this is the old memorization system from D&D where you needed to memorize the spells and how many of each spell before going into battle. I want to make it a little simpler in that I just want to have the spell caster load spells into an orb and is only limited by choice and how much MP they have. Would this be very difficult, or require a lot of custom scripts and/or making all the item combinations?

I am not sure I understand you right, but if I do, you want a character to have all the skill, or at least enough of them to make a selection before the battle starts.

You can bind skills to an equipable. If you make like 5 skill slots in your most right list in the database (types), and you make 1 skill type equipment, then you can make quipable items, each with a skill.

You can do this prettier with plugins. I'll write a new reply for that, to avoid confusion.

If you use the equip plugin by yanfly, you can make slot 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 (for example) all use the same equipment. Like normally you have one slot for a hat, one slot for a shield etc, but with this plugins, you can have 5 slots, for the same type. So you can equip each spell, in all 5 of the slots.

Another approach is to make attachments, (Need attachauchment plugin by yanfly) you can equip to your armor/weapon. I do this to my mage, it has a book as weapon, and can add pages, to the book, with a max of 5. Each page is another spell. So, if they have more books, they can also have more default sets, and swtichs sets in battle (need equipment plugin by yanfly)

Yes, basically selecting X number of spells at an inn or other designated locations out of their list of Y that can be used. I haven't seen any fan videos on Youtube or games that use such a system, so wasn't sure if MV could do it or not.

I don't care if you built the game engine, I have better things to do then sift through sarcasm to see if you even understood the question in the first place. Someone else came along, was much more to the point and polite, and now I can move forward. Knowledge doesn't give you the right to be a jerk, or at least doesn't mean I have to put up with it.
