There's also the 40 free essentials plugin pack by yanfly that is out.
Yup, I downloaded those. Just going piece by piece to see what I can learn as I go. At the moment, I'm just focused on making upsized, longer animations work more than anything fancy in battle systems.
Just so it's clear, I'm looking on the yanfly.moe wiki under Category Yanfly_Engine_Plugins, the terms of use say: " I do not demand royalties or special liberties if you choose to use Yanfly original content in your commercial games. (Although a free copy of your game would be nice!) I only ask that you provide “Yanfly” or “Yanfly Engine” a spot in your game’s credits. "
Is this no longer the case or are you referring to something different? It'd be best for me to know before diving into something that can't be sold on a whim if it were ever to move in that direction.
OK, so Yanfly's TOS while it has slightly changed,it still remains, you may use Yanfly Engine Plugins to make free and commercial games. With no royalties needing to be paid. It has also been stated in the TOS that distribution of the plugins outside the scope of game projects, example: you are working together with someone, both of you need access to the plugins to complete the game. Yanfly has also stated, that those who already have the plugins are free to continue using them.
You can read the actual TOS here: http://www.yanfly.moe/wiki/Category:Yanfly_Engine_Plugins its intentionally kept simple. I think mainly because yanfly doesnt want to faff about with writing a full license for the plugins.
This whole mess caught me by suprise, I've been away from the RM community for a while and I came back to this crazyness reading it all as I was downloading the last uploaded Sample Project from the patreon.
I was going to change my patreon contribution to the $10 teir too because I wanted his Debugging tool, or at least the latest version of it anyway. I have an old version that he left in one of the $5 sample projects.
Anyway I'll probably keep my patreon contribution going for a while, since Archeia is heading it up as it's all supposed to recycle back into the communityto keep the library maintained and all that.
+1. If he was making 4k a month anyways why does he care lol? Greed ruins the best of people.
Well that's interesting thanks for showing that. If he is honest about reinvesting that is fine. It does seem odd with the pricing for the collection being $30, but you can go on Patreon and pledge for $5 to get it and cancel before the end of the month.
