Parallax map trouble
It's been a long time since I've played around with this program. I came back to it recently and I've run into some issues when creating a parallax map. So here's the jist of it:

I used the ingame feature to save the outlined map that I created. (in the past this didn't save correctly but it appears to now?) So I saved the file. Then I opened it up in photoshop. Well it seemed to match up to the grid listed there already. In fact it and all of the tile sets match up to the grid just right so everything was working perfectly.

I worked on the map a little, utilizing orange overlay to do the layering I wanted in the game. However when I go to load the map up it has it shrunk down and tiled. I'm not sure why this is. Everything matched up and made it into photoshop just fine. I saved it as a png. I even put a ! in front of it cause it was a little on the large side 50x30 cause it's a small town. And yeah I've no idea why it isn't going back into MV correctly. Anyone have any insight as to why this is happening?

Yeah, when you save the map, it shows an image of the map, but that image is not on a 1:1 scale. I am not sure it was supposed to work that way, though.

Whenever I play around with paralel mapping, I just make a screenshot of the map, more than one if I have a big map, and glue them together.

If you have a big map, you can temporarily increase your windowsize to 1920*1080 (assuming you use a full HD screen) with the Community_Basic plugin.

Oh in addition, when you work on the map in photoshop, make a 48*48 pixel grid. Each tile, should cover one square on the grid exactly.

@XIIIth (I know you're want to say it :p So I'll answer it up front) Cause this is actually an interesting question. :p

well that's just it, when it saved out and I put it in photoshop it was already fitting into the grid perfectly. But meh. I decided to use the doodad script to make the edits instead. Seems a lot easier.

Then your gris was mos likely set at 24*24. :p

That could have been the issue. I didn't actually check the numbers since they had appeared to fit perfectly didn't appear like it needed to be tweaked. Regardless though Yanfly's doodad plugin is going to allow me to do what I wanted to in the first place so I can bypass the tediousness of parallex mapping.

Now if only MV would stop running into an error and shutting down when I try and set specific tile images for events life would be golden for me >.<

Thank you though for the response and trying to help me out.

This is a 1.6 error; reverting to v1.5.2 should solve it. Details here if you're interested: https://steamcommunity.com/games/363890/announcements/detail/1663389538617155894
