C-level really doesn't appreciate it when random minions put them in a spot by willy-nilly flaunting copyright laws.
And who is C level?
however there is some DLC available for rpg maker that will give you a similar look to what you want
http://www.rpgmakerweb.com/a/graphics/time-fantasy-farm-and-fort
http://www.rpgmakerweb.com/a/graphics/time-fantasy-add-on-animals
http://www.rpgmakerweb.com/a/graphics/time-fantasy-monsters
there is also a lot of DLC on the rpg maker site that is modern tilesets but they are mostly for ACE so you would need to use a tile size plugin or rezise the images to make them work
it would be a 30 seconds or less cutscene made in RPG maker with some dialog.
commercial purposes would be to sell, market a product, etc. none of that is occuring. I am not trying to do anything illegal or nefarious whatsoever.
So you're necroposting in a thread for software you don't own or use to say "down with copyrights, do what you want"? Showing someone fully legal alternatives to using assets ripped from a game by a C&D-happy company isn't being "harsh". This guy wasn't even making a fangame. What are you on about?
Yea.. there's no way the artist would care nor even know if you used it for the purpose the OP is intending.. You guys in the RPG Maker community come off way to harsh on this stuff imho.
*edit* well necro post lol. My point still stands though. I say use it for personal purposes if you want that's a rip of a 20 year old SNES game lol. SNES and NES games(not Nintendo or Sega) are mostly abandware at this point.
Personal-use is one thing, but to say Nintendo has abandoned old intellectual property would be... ill informed, to say the least. I can't say I'm actually suggesting you do this, but if you're going to step on someone's toes over legal matters, just make sure they don't hear about it. Nintendo can be very protective of their property.
OP learned that and OP learned about RIP Sides and false Owners.
Thats a good thing in general, isnt it? Some People are new to this and therfor dont know more.
THIS THREAD IS 1 YEAR OLD =).
