Adding "States" animations to Img/System Folder. Is possible?
RPG Maker MV has an animation sheet for the various states. (Poison, Confusion, etc.) Is it possible to extend this sheet to add your own custom state animations sort of like the way there can be several weapon sheets? I've looked at a few Yanfly plugins but didn't see anything along this line. Has anyone gone beyond the standard ones provided? let me know what steps you did. Thanks.

hi you can use your custom states just follow a tutorial to make in photoshop or gimp
and if you own rpg maker vx ace you can use the items and states from there
yanfly has a sheet with all weapons states and items hope that helps

Yanfly's Visual State Effects[yanfly.moe] plugin lets you assign animations to states! ^_^

Thanks both of you. yes I use Gimp so the plan is to make my own based on the types of effects that can happen to my characters and enemies. I didn't notice Visual state effects plugin - maybe I thought is was for something else - I'll take a closer look at it!
Ok I see now that you can assign animations to act similar to a state overlay using the visual state effects plugin. I had to watch the youtube vid again to catch that part. So I guess I can custom make some animations to use for state overlays this way.

Yes, it's a workaround but it works quite well. =)

I found an alternative plugin that relies on adding rows to the overlay graphic, but it reportedly conflicts with Yanfly's Animated Battlers plugin (and maybe others): https://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?threads/more-state-overlay.47886/

I'll take a look at it - but I'm using the SV battler plugin quite a lot so I wouldn't sacrifice it for something else. I tried out using the "animations as states" plugin and it works pretty good, I just need to custom make them to fit SV characters better. Which isn't a big deal once you've done it a couple of times.
