When it comes to game development--start small. Make a quick game, maybe a short little keyfetch / quest game. Make several small games. If they're story-heavy and you upload them somewhere, ask the community for opinions--what they liked, what they didn't like.
Sometimes we, as devs, start game developing super ambitious, and it... Ends badly! I've been there and soooso many others have!
My first major project ended up left behind because, well... I got stuck storywise. I had half of the dialogue script typed up, I had all of the sprites made, multiple events coded, but... I just couldn't tie it back around. I hope that I can revisit it one day, but for my current project I'm taking some inspiration from current events in my life, my dreams, and so on.
I think that I'll be able to visit it one day... Sometimes an idea for it will pop right into my head, and I'll jot it down!
There are many quick plot / character generator sites and blogs--these might be useful for developing short stories to incorporate into shorter projects! I recommend checking them out!! I wish you the best of luck<3
If you feel like your game needs a bit of spice, check out yanfly, plugins, they're very useful and easy to use.
Storywise, i know it is really hard sometimes to find a good idea tha could work in a videogame, or even a cool story, but sometimes it's also really easy to snap out of this "creative void" and come up with a really cool idea.
Some advices are to take a step back and think about what your game is going to be like:
Is it a short game with funny characters and situations?
Is it a plot based game with brain-crunching puzzles?
Is it just a way for you to spend time learning how to code complex events?
Based on these ipothesis, you should find more easy to create some characters and then the story and ambientations of the game.
Try to drive inspiration from real life experiences or people, they help to make your game more alive and also it's easier for you to immedesimate yourself in the character.
If you really don't find any ideas, try to take inspirations from other games or projects, or even from your previous works, maybe making a sequel or a prequelof the stories you already told.
There are also a lot of video tutorials about making charachters and ambientatiosn wich coul help you. I reccomend Echo607 videos, they helped me a lot on maching characters feel alive.
I hope that you find a really cool idea to make a really good game, i know how frustrating it is to feel out of ideas, but you don't have to give up. Take a break and just wait for the righ inspiration.
Good luck, may the plugins be with you.
