Why are there two high speed turn buttons?
you only need one, you click the button then the direction you want to high speed turn to.

THIS!

I wonder if originally they activated specific retro/turning thrusters, and you actually had to pick the appropriate one? I like the current system MUCH more than how that sounds, make no mistake, and I agree that this is peculiar..

considering that all the other thruster buttons are toggle, one would guess that the turn buttons were as well. Hence a need for one in each direction. As the functionality is now, you do really only need one. I suppose this means less micromanagement, but in return, the high energy turn direction seems... inconsistent.
Could also be just to make that bit of the UI not seem lopsided. As it is; you can intuit what those buttons are for at a glance. If it was just three buttons in a column, it wouldn't be quite as clear.

Just my feel on it, though.

Because from a UI perspective it makes a lot of sense for the button clickers :)

considering the default hotkeys are all weird, and don't match the tutorial tooltips, i'll go for clicking my buttons :p

That can be fixed just by going into the control options and hitting Default. The setting they're at after the initial install is based on whatever keyboard they use in France (not sure what one they do use, just that it isn't a QWERTY keyboard). Hitting the Default button on there will have the game realise you're using a different kind of keyboard and adjust appropriately.

that is quite useful to know. It's also a very simple detail, which one would think they would have thought of. For all the things i like about this game, this final "multiplayer beta" and the release in 2 weeks, seem a bit rushed. the game could probably use an extra month of beta and development.

Once you fix the default keys by hitting: "Default", you can press "E" to make any turn, either way.

You have a Speed Burts and a Turn to heading left and right. reason you get two, Imperium can only use on at a time, Chaos can do both at once.

You're telling me Chaos can turn left AND right at the same time?

Yeah I just did this and it worked. I couldn't believe how crazy bad and counter-intuative the keybinds were when I looked through them. I was just clicking stuff and hit "Default", and the keybinds changed to a more realistic layout. It must be some bug with the beta where it just buggers up the keybinds.

Bro, the dark gods.

No they can boost and turn at the same time, the imperium cant. Though the momentum of the burn then turn achieves the same result albiet slower and more lumbery.
