(In your varied opinions) best Imperial Navy ships.

Hello, admirals. As the title says, looking for thoughts on what the best of the Emperor's fleet would be in the various classes to look for a little advice on picking out my ships to try out things. If possible, please be a little more specific than "All Nova cannons" that seems to be popular in the older topics.

And I suppose if you filthy heretics/xenos want to mention any particular boats you like that's fine too, I'll know which ones to shoot first!

Edit: Upgrades, skills, crew, favors, all that sort of thing too. In fact let's just talk about how you like to run your fleets.

I tend to be a brawler and get in close with macro cannons. That being said I run a retribution BS (in hopes they make the broadsides better than the emperors some day) with belt, movement, micro warp, armor pierce, and macro range upgrades.

I use the inquisitor favor almost completely (it's broken sadly ATM)
Light Cruisers I put Terminator Favor for lightning strikes.

Since the nova cannon nerf, I don't think i've landed a solid shot, so out with Mars, in with Overlord BC's.

I attempt to close in fast, and hammer away with macros, then use tactical cogitators to spin around and blast with missles. Seems to be working against the computer skirmish, but I doubt I would be able to get away with that strategy against a human opponent.

I really like the Tyrant and the Gothic cruisers, they work well together. The Tryant gets Adaptus Astartes favor for better boarding and armor piercing ammo, the Gothic gets extra lance crit chance and the Imperial Navy favor for the cobra

Dominator for brawling capacity, that's pure Mega Kannon power. Overlord combined with 12.5kk range detection Emperor to wreck the kiter.

Mars is terrible because it's a half ass ship. Dominator broadside is where it shines, serious wrecking stuff and very high chance of crit.

I like the dominator as well, but for some reason I just love torpedoes

Overlord for your torpedo love. It has 12kk range to complement torpedo and the lance turret wreck stuff.

The Overlord class is probably one of the top five ships in the entire game. It is by far my favorite Imperial ship.

Emperor: Best BB option at the moment since Ret is UP. Decent macro firepower (I normally sit at around 9k with it since DPS at 9k is double the 12k range DPS, I find it a good compromise between safety and DPS). Big strike craft wings and massive sensor range.

Dominator: Excellent close-range brawler. Nova cannon is weaker now but still competitive. Get AP macros, speed boost and dive into the middle of the enemy fleet. Bonus points if you can get targets for both port and starboard batteries.

Gothic: Lance range upgrades make it an excellent support ship. Excellent, accurate firepower out to 9k.

Dauntless Torp/Lance: Both good ships. Lances good for chasing, torpedoes more for control/brawling.

I think Lunar and Tyrant are outclassed by the other options. Need to look at the Imperial BCs more. Neither impress that greatly at the moment.

Three Dictators with Imperial favor. Bomberspam, Cobraspam. Murderises everthing at short, medium and long range.

Gothic and Emperor are my 2 favorite ships

i dont waste my time with IN favor since its just spawning unpgraded cobras, and destroyed escorts put you at risk of insubordination so i put SM favor on everything
