Did any of you read ''Gaunt Ghosts'' ? I have a question about ''Only in Death''
Ghosts, for the record, are one of the better WH40K book series (I prefer Cain, because Ghosts are a bit melodramatic at times...) It's Scottish and Irish gaelic troops, in SPAAAAAAACE ! (and boy, do they kick a...., especially compared to, I don't know...regiments led by stuffy, aristocratic and presumably mustachooed officers that speaks clippled High Gothic, ''drink tea'' and hate the Tanith for being ''barbarians'' ?)

So, question, very specific and simple. Did I read the book correctly by assuming that all the ghosts plaguing the Imperials are from their former comrade trying to contact them ?

Yeah... It's a bit far fetched isn't it.

Well, it's WH40K. I'm more worried about the bit where he made a Valkyrie out thin air to bring an officer to talk to his friends.

All the ghosts are psychic manifestations of their friends power when he's trying to warn them

You interpreted that mostly correctly, yes.

Agun Soric was taken from the Ghosts by the Inquisition, and turned into a Sanctioned Psyker. Except not one of the badass, go kill the enemy with the Flames of the Emperor kind of Sanctioned Psyker, but a quivering mass of a man with his ears cut off, his eyes sown shut, and kept in a cage littered with his own excrement.

Using his abilities to try and contact the Ghosts caused many of them whom had lost close friends to have projections of those manifest.

However, Hinzerhaus itself was very clearly touched by the warp in some form or another, not all of that was Agun Soric's doing.

While not personally one of my all time favorite novels in the series, I don't despise it like some Gaunt's Ghost's fan's do. The Ghost's had gotten away with a lot in recent books, and realistically they got away pretty scott free on Jago too, with two much beloved characters, Bonin and Shoggy, easily could of been killed.

Next book out when?

Oh man... Gaunt's Ghosts. I read every single one of those. How those books can make you feel the loss of characters is incredible. Except one... damn you Cuu!
