Or just deal as much damage as you can and accept the defeat when that pathetic weakling of a prince warps out, it doesn't change a thing as far as the story goes and the Eldar are still grateful for your help... and you still get a bunch of rep.
Step 2) Stasis bomb the bejeezus out of him while you go clean up the orks.
Step 2.5) If above is not feasible, just let him die. The alliance still progresses even if you fail the mission.
Compared to stupid AI this is a win-win-win.
Eldar handing over command to a Mon-Keigh. You let me know where in the lore you saw THAT. XD
You let me see the lore where they charged into ork boarding torpedos.
Fact is Void Combat, just as ground combat, requires a superior command. If they allied they worked together. That does not mean the eldar wont backstab yet they did follow a certain plan.
They may have worked together, but I seriously doubt that any two species with the exception of confederacies such as the Tau would ever give up command to the other. The Eldar are far too proud to ever obey the orders of any other species in the galaxy unless it matches their own plans, the Emperor would personally get off his throne and beat your head in if his loyal subjects gave up command to the Xenos.. And so forth.
The best you can hope is that the two remain in command of their own forces and can agree on a battle plan, but ultimately good luck getting either side to cede superior authority to the other.
b) necrons are jealous for your skills to waken up something even older than them.
c) technically[xkcd.com], exterminatus can't be targeted towards an individual. The correct expression would be "burn", "kill" or "purge".
I managed to beat the mission by stalling out the orks and waiting for the mission countdown to finish. I stumbled onto this solution after countless restarts of the mission.
Read on If you want to know the specifics.
I started with 3 lighter ships to the side of the battlefield and ignored the eldars completely, focusing on destroying as many ships as possible.
By the time Eldrathain retreated from the battle I managed to destroy most of the Ork ships except the capital cruiser and 2 smaller vessels (all three of which had damaged engines).
I lost 2 ships in the process but my remaining one was at full health with all subsystems operational.
At this point I realised I can't defeat the orks head on so I decided to try and lure their ships into the asteroid fields.
But seeing how little damage the capital ship took from the asteroid field I felt hopeless and ready to restart the mission.
I noticed that the countdown was below 4 minutes so I decided to stall the orks some more and see what happens.
To my surprise when the timer hit 0 the game claimed I won the battle. I don't know how or why I got the win but I tried too long to get it to go back and try for anihilation win condition.
Playing on hardest difficulty.
I mean, they could've just gave them mostly carriers and focus them on running away while pestering you with Bombers. It is very effective, so why not?
The problem is that they try to fight "fair" and direct like other races. That IS NOT GOING TO GO WELL for Eldar, obviously. So, perhaps they should've just restricted Shadows and Auroras from AI and focus Eclipse and Stalker to Bombers.
Btw, regardless of what, it is a stupid mission, just like that assassinate or data steal early on. I'm not for removing things, but here? Yeah, BFGA 2 did the right thing by eliminating everything except Cruiser Clash. Sure, it is monotone and repetitive, but it's better than the broken design of some of these(Assassinate and P.Assault are the worst lol).
You're not. Ok, Eldrathain will most likely escape(be it in his ship or in an escape pod don't matter), just round up all these green idiots and blow them up. Will most likely contain a lot of kiting, it'd be very beneficial if you had a Retribution at hand, but Overlord + Dictator will do.
