Kolossus..
How the hell do you kill this thing in Campaign? The non-stop flood of Escorts make it especially hard..

Topredoes. I did this mission with a battleship and 2 battle cruisers. Immediately start the match off with a salvo, then just use the cogiatators to line up a new slavo with maneuvering thrusters as soon as the cooldown is up. A few spreads later and you'll be lamenting at how squishy it is since it didn't offer enough a challenge! Same thing with the Fortresses and the Planetkiller.
Torpedos, Tyrants and an Emperor.

Toperdo it to hell, then broadside it even further into hell with plasma macro cannons.

I guess overloading their turrets is indeed the smartest way to go about it. *Unfortunately* I have a Gothic and that is all when it comes to torpedoes...

Get more Gothics. Get 3 Gothics. Insert POWER RAM on them.

To put it plainly, theres nothing a flanked power ram cant kill and if you manage to nail the enemy at the same time from both sides it ensues in hilarous clitchy fit and the poor bugger in the middle explodes near instantly. Just remember to save your Brace for Impact for the rammy goodness.

I mean, the end boss died to 2x Gothic with power ram while the rest of my fleet tried in vain to keep my allies alive. >.>

The fight lasted bout 3 minutes, about as long as a standard assasination mission, but this time the target was coming AT you instead of running away.

PS: Best ram team is 1x overlord and 3x gothic, you can do all big story boss battles with that setup. And 4x the rammyness.

Torpedoes isn't that easy. Most of the time the Colossus destroys 5 of 6 torpedos with his defense guns or fighters. Even when attacking from point blank from the rear.

Maybe I should start ramming again.

Retribution, Overlord and Mars. Hold at extreme range and bombard with torpedoes and nova cannon. Ideally, put an asteroid belt between you and Kolossus so it takes damage just by approaching you.

I've learned from lots of multiplayer that any turret screen can simply be overloaded by throwing more stuff at it. Put out all your missiles at once, then when they're close put out all your bombers. 80% will hit.

Last time I was doing quite well (fourth try), because Colossus concentrated on the useless AI ship.

Then the game crashed. Game doesn't want me to win.

For me this missions seems to be the complicated one, because my fleet lacks a Retribution or Mars and I only have one long range Gothic.

The thing that annoys me a bit is that it seems to be almost impossible to destroy parts of the Colossus. You can aim at weapons, take 9/10 of it's hitpoints, ram it, let it burn on 4 locations and still every component is ok. On the other side my ships get crippled at first contact.
It's just not very satisfying I can't even knock out one or two turrets during a long fight.
I had it down to maybe 20% health, engines, generator and bridge gone. TIME LIMIT! Used an Emperor, Mars and a Dictator

I'd give you an answer but every time I try to do the mission the sound effects volume goes through the roof and my screen is black with a cursor.
