Ramming! Fun, sometimes useful but...
Well! Had an incident last night with a battleship on full ahead that managed to ram 3 cruisers in a row on my side!

I was too busy to correct it and thought there was nothing to avert the first collision then it kept going and plowed through the 2 cruisers on the other side of the mishap... Wow.

When there are Sword symbols in front of the ships is that when it is best to ram or is there a key or something to make the ships attempt a ram?

I noticed the Orks favourite tactic is to cruise on over to the battle then go all full ahead and try and ram everything.

Any control over this or tactics?

What is the most useful outcome of a ram and consequences to the ship?

Ram with the part of the ship that has the most armor (the prow), hit brace for impact before hitting, Ram lighter ships with heavier ships for more damage, ram the sides or engines of enemies, Use boost for more ram, right before impact yell "WAAAGHHH!!" even if you are Imperial. Never ram when playing Eldar unless you are very confident.

rofl, thanks!

So the sword symbol just means that a ram is possible? Under those present conditions?

Torpedo spread followed by ram can do 1/4 or more damage to most ships. Way more to Eldar and Chaos. Also after you ram, you can do a fast turn and do more damage scraping your prow along the side of their ship. Get the upgraded ram on IN cruisers and watch the carnage.

Lots of fun to ram ships into asteroids, mines, stasis bubbles, and their own torpedo spreads.

I prefer Chaos but they suck for ramming.

The sword icon means you have been taunted.

Just so you know, the sword symbol in front of a ship means that it is being taunted.

Ramming is just a matter of hitting all ahead full and driving the ship into the enemy.

I find it useful as a reliable way of causing a large amount of damage.

For laughs ram light cruisers into battleships and watch them bounce off like they are made of rubber.

Oh yeah... wow... when the battleship just plowed through three cruisers, well, for the first time in game I really panicked hahaha...

Thanks, now I know what the sword symbol is. And the extra tip for ramming : ) (Not the torpedo part (hehe) the changing vector of ship part)

Ram Edlar when you are not Eldar ^^. Imperial and Ork Ships are best for Ramming, Eldar and Chaos not so much. ^^

Use Orc escorts as mini guided missiles. I laughed when 3 escorts rammed a BC into the side of a BB and crushed it do death. 112 points killed a 175 point ship in less than 10 seconds.

Yeah! That's what the Orkses do!
If ramming is something you want to risk I suggest using microjumps and taunts to align eigher your ships or the opponents ships for the perfect ram, and its always fun to ram a enemy ship into another enemy ship.

Nice... Will have to work on this when I get used to the Hot Keys. Thanks.
