Hand of Darkness
Hello.

Only to get this right.

Is there any way to defend the ship of inquisior?

I took out 2 waves but the third was to much and the ship exploded.
Is this a mistake on my part or is this actually scripted?...like you have to lose so the story makes sense?

Looks like it.... reminds me of mission 1

Although I was maybe 5 seconds away from completing it.

I got the Ship out with about 1 HitPoint left.
But to be honest it was more luck than skill due to the sheer amount of Wave 3 and the Chaos Ships almost ignoring all my ships an focusing their fire on the Inquisitor´s ship.

Try taking out the weapons of the chaos ship equipped with lance batteries in wave 3.

Which difficulty are you playing on? i played it on normal, and made it out without it not going below 75%. i used the stasis bomb to slow down the insane amount of escorts, while firing all of my torpedoes into them, effectively making the inquisitor outrun them. The other cruisers were rather easy to focus down with the assistance of the inquisitor.

Well, on hard he has no engines so it... complicates things

that... i got him to the point where he wanted to warp out, just to 1-3 seconds to late... restarting the campain to get a ship with stasis&taunt ready. my BC carrier for boarding action did not help me with that

what? i was on normal and the inquistor is stuck in the same spot of where he spawns. couldn't even turn him to face the right direction =(

but ya for me i brought a LC and had him focus down the escorts (escorts do alot of damage especially the lance ones target them first) doesn't matter which LC you bring. i brought the torpedo but that was kind of hit or miss with how well it did

my cruiser was a dominator. used nova cannon to help burst down the escorts and armor piercing macros to finish them off. through i mostly used this ship to kill the enemy capital ships. using boarding whenever i had the chance to destroy enemy weapons
(target the capital ships with weapons the hangar bay ones weren't worth it in my opinion to wipe out first)

i barely won the mission but the inquistor was at 3hp and didn't warp out so i had to wait for the timer to run out first XD

Yes there is. The problem is that the mission is not balanced. If you take a Cruiser with you on the mission the enemy spawns crazy amounts of enemies that are hard to defend from. Only take Light Cruisers and Escorts on this mission. It can be done then.

Wait, i may have confused this with another mission. Are you talking about the one where you have to defend the inquisitor when his engines and generators have been disabled by traitors or the one where you are supposed to escort him through the maze of asteroid fields?

I was thinking you meant the latter one, however judging from the other comments it seems to be the first one you are having troubles with. I believe what i did on this one is using stasis bombs to slow down the enemies, while trying to focus down their ships. I was mainly ignoring the escorts spawning in the bottom part of the map and focusing everything on the cruisers from the top.

Which ship types are you guys using? i have been focusing on a fleet focused on torpedoes with increased speed of them, as the new melta torpedoes will do insane damage if you manage to bait out the repair and then get in 3 or 4 hits after.

The first mission was fine. I had a Cruiser, Light Cruiser and Escort on Normal. The Inquisitor never went below 90% HP and all waves destroyed until he warped out. Just Kite the Chaos ships around him as his guns still work, use bombs and boarding actions. Not to mention ramming. I have a Cruiser with hangers as well... Assualt Actions are good.
