you can have infinite ship points.
So, you will play everytime against 1 cruiser and 832190328139021832190283190238123x frigates.
@Brandoid
I don't want select a ship Capital Ship that costs 300, then select 1 frigate, you can understand what i mean? I want CUSTOM these points, i want put 3000 points to see the galaxy burn lol.
Anyway, DEVs pls add.
If you want huge fleets, there are other games for that(RTS).
This is more of a tactical game, which revolves around fewer, but more specialized ships.
It is like playing Sins of a Solar Empire, but with capital ships only(and a lot of other mechanics, ofc).
What I gout for my money was the ability to watch 3 to 5 ships creep across the map.
I thought I would be commanding armada's containing dozens of massive battle ships and swarms of escorts, atleast thats what all the imagery showed.
the biggest battle I played was a 700 point custom match and it felt incredibly small.
I kinda feel its misleading to show all these cinematics of massive fleets, only for players to find out that those massive fleets only exist in the cinematics.
Thank you!
See guys? That's what I was talking about.
Theres no difficult to do this, a monkey can do it.
We know only a problem related to the use of large amounts of points which is BOTs spamming frigates, off this problem, there is no other.
There is a HUGE gameplay ripple effect actually.
The whole Warp Out to save your fleet mechanic is irrelevant.
All crew upgrades that are relative to that become obsolete.
Limited slots to make you preserve your best ships in battle instead of going suicidal each match go out of the window.
Match control over ships is reduced to "draw a box around your ships and give attack orders" simply because a human can't control all those ships.
Moreover, so many activated abilities in the same match quite simply brake the game horribly. Just imagine 9 Nova Cannons going off at once, or HUGE torpedo walls that noone can avoid.
Matches would be horrible, totally unbalanced and mindless with no strategy whatsoever. When the novelty of 'ZOMGhugebattles with many many many ships' wears off all that would be left will be a completely broken game.
I've been saying this for months now to anyone who asks about more ships in a match because there is always one such post every week or so. THIS WILL NOT MAKE THE GAME BETTER. It will seem more epic but from an actual gameplay standpoint it would be ridiculous.
So, as I said, a work for a modder, not for a game designer.
Don't forget the more ships you have the more you have to micro manage them and it would be a cluster ♥♥♥♥ with 10 Cruisers on each side. Especially with 2v2. Most of the ships would burn and die without note and would take away from the game more than add to it.
This is mainly cuz of the scale. You control each ship, NOT squadrons of escorts and teams of light cruisers
Make sense, thanks for you explanation.
