Unknown symbols in campaign

This game, while good, is remarkably bad at explaining how things work. Mostly I've been able to understand things by googling and reading various wikis, but sometimes not even that works.
This is one such moment. So, basically I'm wondering if anyone knows what the blue symbols in these to pictures mean. (oh, and getting images in here seems pretty convoluted)

It's a special battle in regards to helping the imperial navy or adeptus astartes, fighting in these battles (assuming you win) lowers the cost of that specific favour

I guess I didn't look hard enough. I just realised what the symbols mean. They're right there in the lower left corner. **facepalm**
First two symbols are stationary on planets, while the Imperial Navy and Adeptus Astartes presumably move about.
