Any tips for Campaign?
I'm having fun but its getting quite hard. The normal missions are going well and seem easy, but some of the ork missions are very hard. When i do win i lose 3 ships.
Most of the guides are for pvp engagements. I was wondering what successful strategies and ship combinations people use. I have 600 renown missions and use Overlord, Dauntless mk 2, and Tyrants. I have faster missiles, shield upgrades, Shield super charge, and the bombs to help. I have crew filling out gunners and the Servitors (guys that decrease skill recharge).
Any advice would be great .. thanks :)

Retribution with two Overlords and one Dauntless mk1 - for most of the missions, including boss battles.

4 Dauntless mk1 with multiple Sword escorts - for Convoy attacks or against Eldars.

Mix of Dominators and Dauntlees mk1 cruisers as the general task force before I unlocked battleship and battlecruisers.

All line ships fitted with the Mechanicus favour.

/shrug I find once you have a Retribution class battleship the game becomes much easier. That plus an Overlord and a handful of assorted cruisers carried me through. I ditched the light cruisers ASAP, didn't find them worthwhile.

that and remember that imps are the best ramming fleet in the game, so get those power rams and ap ammo
also I prefer the tyrant for my cruiser because It can fit power rams

Against the orks, you'll want to have your Ratings maxed out, as orks love boarding. Higher troop values provide more defence against boarding actions and lightning strikes. Learn to use and love torpedoes; they're generally more reliable than nova cannons. Also, prioritise orks with heavy kannons, as these hit hard. You can (temporarily) ignore orks with lots'o'guns or other loadouts, as these don't hit anywhere as hard.

Also, take advantage of orks' low discipline: sometimes one that warps out will start a chain reaction. I personally like having at least one ship fitted with the Inquisition favour because the Emperor's tarot provides a nice unlimited-range identification. Orks will rarely have 'Running Silent,' so it will allow you to see them coming early.
