bring light ships
the key is in the number of boarding actions you can have
eldar have no defense vs lightning strike
they take it, you take it back, they take it back you take it back until you have more lightning strikes, then you warp out with them having noway to stop it
that or you have micro warp jump and boost refill and ram the bastards
or i guess nova cannons tho those are pretty bad vs ai, better to bring torps
just dont use your boardings early
the last to grab wins if you dont get the kill
convoy protection
dont listen to spire
group up in one group, hug the map edge
watch for the slow down just before they boost and either boost with the transport to dodge or even better ram them to the side jst as they start to boost
they are unable to stop boosting and slow to turn
so by the time they have turned they are basically unable to catch up and be a treat to your transports again
the game gets easier once you get used to your ships
beating the entire campaign on the hardest difficulty without losing a single line ship and without losing a single mission is perfectly possible
but if normal is too hard , practice on easy, its why it exists
If you are a kid with less than 1000 hours in RTS genre games, accumulated so far in your life, just pick easy mode and enjoy the story line, which is pretty good in my opinion.
But yes, there are certain modes that I don't like and wish not to waste my time on because it's just somewhat impossible, except without some luck in skills and starting map setup. I don't even bother with breakthrough (offensive), probably the worst mode in the game. I'm glad the devs did away with the tedious modes you found in BFGA1. All those game modes beomce bonus missions that are nice to have but not necessary in BFGA2, alongside Cruiser Clash and Victory Point as the main objectives.
You must have picked the wrong ships, skill upgrades, and special abilities.
The campaign wholly depends on you doing well and making right choices at the very beginning. Every mistake is stacked up against you in the long, and even longer, term. Like student loans, home loans, or little resentment and grudges built up over time in relationship or marriage, ha HA.
Are you sure you have a firm grasp of the RTS game design? When playing RTS games, you should always have the devs' own thinking in mind because they make the games. If you play enough RTS games, it's easy to see which part of the game is a patch-up, band-aid, or thought-afters, and which is the core that's originally conceived. Sounds like you are treating the game with the "head-banging at the wall till it breaks" attitude. If the first approach doesn't work, try another.
Well, I guess everyone is different. You create your own reality in your head. If you think you are right, move on. Yes, it's unbeatable, to you I guess.
I'm doing just fine, even with Iron Man in Hard mode.
they already play like that
The day I see you post a video of your four light cruisers beating two Ork battle cruisers, four light cruisers, four escorts, and then destroying two light stations and getting the victory screen with Iron Man Hard mode is the day I'll believe it.
Or do you just mean that's what happens "in your head"?
its really not that hard
but continue to blame what ever makes it not you
Um, you do know that in the early campaign those missions are limited to 300 points, regardless of how well you've done at any mission, right? Now you sound like you haven't even played the game. So I think you know where you can shove it.
and considering your not playing on hard orks can at most bring 2 battlecruisers and a escort for 300
if the only thing you have is light cruisers why dont you just kill the stations and run
they are fragile and orks cant catch you
Because even if you destroy both stations, the only objectives listed, you still don't win. Paradoxically, on roughly my 50th attempt tonight the RNG gods favored me, and I actually destroyed ALL of the Ork ships but NONE of the platforms, and I won. Which makes zero sense. This game is clearly **** in various respects.
No, what I hoped for was help. What I got were douche bags telling me I'm not seeing what I'm seeing and offering little more than "git gudz". Thus, there's no point in listening to idiots.
