Why does BFG:A need to start my VR headset?

As topic says, i just want to play BFG:A and i have a windows mixed reality set attached next to my monitors.
every other game asks me, 'you wann do it in vr?' just BFG:A does not. it just starts in VR, and of course it is not optimized for VR.
means that the menu is so awkwardly aside, that you can not see it, just the upper right part of the part of the screen that would've been on the screen.
now i have to unattach my VR set in order to play.

maybe the devs want to talk to the game and tell it - no you are not that important and you are not VR.
or something.

Hello,

Try this:

1. Run Steam and click LIBRARY.
2. Right click on 'Battlefleet Gothic: Armada' and click Properties.
3. Click on the button SET LAUNCH OPTIONS.
4. Add the following option: -nohmd
5. Click on the button OK then the button CLOSE.
6. Run the game.
