What's the best way to kill the Chaos Champions?
I've had my entire fleet wipe out threw constant battles with the Nurgle champion, and apart from 1-2 battles I've lost every one against him.

EDIT: Side note: Is it just more or does the AI cheat on Planetary Assault missions? Whenever I have to attack the Bombardment targets are spread as far away from each other as possible, but when the AI attacks all of the Targets are really close to the AI starting position and each other.

as far as im awar the ai doesnt cheat, but rng is always a ♥♥♥♥♥

best way is an assasination mission as that way you have to and it cant run silent
beyond that its just a chaos battleship
tho nurgle is the hardest one as its the only one where the favor on the escorts matters

Don't know why, but i've killed Terminus Est on the first try. But failed the bombardment objectives because they spawned near the enemies. I'm using heaviest ships available. Don't use escort ships at all. Also, melta torpedoes not bad at all. And assault boats.
Just need to mention what i'm playing on Normal dificulty.

melta torps seem better then they are
they are still blocked by armor so there is a 50% they do nothing on a choas ships and a 50% to do double damage if they used their repair already
regular torpedoes tho have ap so there is a 75% that you do half as much damage then a melta torp that doesnt get istantly repaired and a 25% added if it hits to do a crit that can be a permanent system crit but can also be a fire
similarly imperial bombers are also pretty nice
pretty good damage and also a good crit rate
especially vs nurgle ships that might have crew put in troop defense
their troop defense ends up making it more likely your bombers cause a permanent crit then your boardings end up causing a temprary crit

if you use the heaviest ships its best to use the boost refill and micro warp jump sklill alongside the spur upgrade
tho hearing you talk about assault boats i wonder if your using the emperor or some marses
my advice is dictators and a retribution
those ships are beautifull for the mwj torp and ram

Retribution and two Mars. Mwj is good, but still ships still very slow. I use it to jump behind enemies, from rearside, to fire battaries to their engines. Or to jump back and repeat run between the enemies and fire both side batteries.

thats a pretty good fleet, but because ai is bad at dodging torpedoes making the novas on the mars less then ideal
torpedo ships can also get spurs letting you jump torp and ram
wich is one of the fastest way of killing things
Hide in the gas clouds, spam torpedoes, and if they get close, activate void shield, lightening strikes, and bomber squadrons. Stay put by using burn retro, and keep shooting torpedoes until they close.
The best way to win is always to kill the entire enemy fleet, regardless of any modes.
Read some naval books or some medieval naval battles with which the game is based on.
The game isn't really that hard, kids.
Might be your 1st game in RTS? Well, tough luck.

You kids can text, eat, talk, and listen to music at the same time. Why are you having troubles managing more than 2 ships or 3? It's all very easy, really.

And I'm playing it on HARD difficulty.

Tried mass torpedos on ork spacehulk. Very easy.
