Blank/corrupt screen potential workaround
Thanks all for triaging the issue in the other 'black screen' thread. I'm going to sticky this post for better visibility, but it appears an additional optional Windows Update may help resolve the issue.

In particular, please try the KB2670838 Windows Update first and see if that does the trick.
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2670838

If the above doesn't work, there may be other optional Windows Update that may help which JaAmFan summarized in the screenshot he enclosed in the post below.
http://steamcommunity.com/app/363440/discussions/0/521643320370054221/#c521643320370428522

In addition, please ensure that you have the latest DirectX, KB2952664 (Windows 7 users), and up to date video drivers installed. More info here:
http://steamcommunity.com/app/363440/discussions/0/521643320370054221/#c521643320370342449

One last temporary workaround:
1) Go to the Steam apps installation directory for MMLC (folder name is "Suzy")
2) Right-click on Proteus.exe, select Properties, ans switch to Compatibility tab
3) Tick the "Run this program in compatibility..." check box, select an older version Windows edition, and then click OK. (experiment with Windows 8, Windows 7, ,etc.)
4) Launch the game.

Above are temporary workarounds to try while the development team takes a look at the issue further. Thanks for your patience.

Is there any input on the failed save issue?

There was a possible work around listed here:

http://steamcommunity.com/app/363440/discussions/0/521643320370438733/

Try that and see if it works. Please try that until we have a chance to look at and address the issue.

Most of users say to change the compatibility to windows 8 if you're using Win10.

Win7 Pro, all Updates and drivers installed: black screen.
Compatibility mode for Windows XP (Service Pack 3): it runs.

It's a new release, it should work on Win10, without compatibility mode. If there really is a problem with Win10, I hope you guys fix it eventually. I can't test it yet (am at work). But I will this evening. :dealwithit::Scissors:

I'm using Windows Vista 64-Bit, and I'm experiencing the same problem (the game "launches", and I get a blue screen, with corrupted text).
I'm aware the store page lists Windows 7 has a minimum requirement, but I've been using Vista 64-Bit for ages, and even though rarely listed as supported, I can pretty much run everything I've seen that requires a 64-Bit OS.

The solutions listed mainly cover a number of Windows 7 updates, which I obviously can't install since the OS is different.
Does anyone know anything I can do in order to fix this problem with my OS (any equivalent Windows update, for example?).
thanks

You should at least warn users of hybrid gpu's, that a installation of this Update will mostly produce bsod's:

Important Some computers that have a combination of Intel and AMD video cards in a hybrid configuration have drivers installed that are incompatible with this platform update.

After you install this update and then restart the computer, the computer may crash because of these compatibility issues. In this situation, you receive a Stop error message that resembles the following:

Screen shot of the Stop error

Note This Stop error includes the "PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA" text and the Igdpmd64.sys or Igdpmd32.sys file name.

To resolve this issue, you may have to install update 2834140 ("0x00000050" Stop error after you install update 2670838 on a computer that is running Windows 7 SP1 or Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1).

You should check the KB Updates by yourself, before recommending installing them:
KB 3075249 - Update that adds telemetry points to consent.exe in Windows 8.1 and Windows 7
KB 3080149 - Update for customer experience and diagnostic telemetry
KB 2574819 - An update is available that adds support for DTLS in Windows 7 SP1 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1
KB 2592687 - Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) 8.0 update for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2
KB 3078667 - System malfunction because memory leak occurs in dwm.exe in Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2
KB 3077715 - August 2015 cumulative time zone update for Windows operating systems
KB 2830477 - Update for RemoteApp and Desktop Connections feature is available for Windows
KB 3048761 - Information or messages are not updated automatically in an application in Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2

Most of 'em are just updates for collection systeminfos for the Windows 10 upgrade-procedure or Microsoft RDP Sessions.

Again, this is just for Windows 10 upgraders...

Agreed!

but in the meantime please give the above a try.
Disagreed. KB Updates are not meant to be installed just for fun and shouldn't be blindly installed.

I've played 2 hours on Win10 x64 without any issues. There's something else going on and causing these problems.

So far, running on Windows 8 Compatibility mode (On Windows 10 64Bit) seems to stop the black screen for me. Also stops stuttering on the company logo screens.

I can't install this, bioshock 1 & 2 stop running with this installed, I'm running windows 7 64 bit.

I've got the same problem using Win10. To solve it I just started the game direct from the folder and it worked fine.
Ie.: Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Suzyand run Proteus.exe

While I couldn't be happier to see older Capcom console titles making to the PC, particularly Mega Man, since I'm a big fan of the series, I'll have to agree with you on that.

This release clearly wasn't properly tested, and sadly, it's one more case where the PC release is treated like an afterthought. These issues certainly wouldn't happen on consoles, because of their certification processes (which they pay for).
I understand that some issues may arise due to hardware/software combinations, but come on, we're not talking about some complex 3D title with complex rendering processes, in this case they pretty much had to test if the menu was working properly, and if the games run. Considering whoever "tested"/uploaded the game didn't even bother to properly label the game's directory (Suzy?), it's pretty clear the level of effort was pretty minimal.

Hopefully these issues will be raised internally by wbacon, so that future similar PC releases won't suffer the same fate.
