Ice Man is very difficult without his weakness. With his weakness (Elec) he's a piece of cake.

edit: just know that Elec Man is very difficult for newcomers too without his weakness (Cut). And you shouldn't do Elec before beating Guts because otherwise you'll have to replay Elec stage to get Magnet Beam which is required in the Wily Fortress.

My suggested order: Bomb > Guts > Cut > Elec > Ice > Fire

Thanks for the replies, btw how do I beat the Wily level? It says " Clean points 200000 " but I already got 600k. There is a locked door on the ride side of the level but it doesn't unlock no matter how many of the enemies I kill. Is there a puzzle or something?

I replayed the bosses in the order you told me to, but I still can't get it. Or should I beat the rest too?

Yes, the magnet beam is the blue part in Elec Man's stage. You'll need either Elec Man's or Guts Man's weapon to remove those blocks.

The pause glitch is a trick you can use to inflict lots of damage on a boss. Shoot the Thunder Beam (Elec Man's weapon) at the boss, then pause and unpause repeatedly; the boss will take damage every time you do so! This is very useful against the Yellow Devil (boss of the first Wily stage).

But how do I get their weapon? They drop a thing when I beat the bosses but my weapon and fire looks the same. Or am I doing something wrong?

edit : I searched the forum and it turns out there is an in-game menu which shows available weapons. Found it and I beat Elecman so damn easily. I literally shot him once with cut and he died lol.

Yeah, the bosses in this game are pretty tough, unless you have the weapon which is their weakness, in which case they're a piece of cake!

the key to bosses in megaman 1 is don't panic, bosses like iceman and fireman don't even requires you to move, the only boss I will not fight without his weakness is elecman, well I have never really tried much without, but screw him

Ice Man is timing the boss. Not one of my favorites but I am glad that we have a boss like this. I like him, personally. And just like aforementioned, Fire Man and Elec Man are also similar in that regard. Keep your cool and don't panic and you will notice the key design mentality for boss fights in Mega Man 1. Even copy bot which is by far the hardest boss in the game for me, can be beaten without getting hit.

Elec Man is EXPONENTIALLY more annoying that Ice Man; at least with Ice Man, if you just jump properly through his very simple pattern, he's super easy to beat.

You can do that with elec man too. Just jump with rhythm and you are good.
