Can't Defeat Airman

I can't beat Air Man!
I can't dodge his tornadoes no matter how many times I try.
Even when I get behind him and keep shooting,
I still end up getting blown away by his wind.
I have also tried the often-abused repeated pause technique,
but it's kinda meaningless against the tornadoes.
So in order to win for sure the next time,
I'll be stocking up on nothing but Energy Tanks.

There are 5-6 patterns of tornadoes and 2 are unavoidable. Stand at the left side of the screen and wait for him to shoot to see if you can avoid them or not or, just take the hit and run at him while in invincibility frames and shooting at him. Takes some practice. Also the pauise trick only works in Mega Man 1.

5 patterns, 2 are incredibly difficult to dodge but not impossible. Everything else here is accurate, good luck =D

Or you can just use woodman and kill him in like 2 to 3 hits. I played this when I was like 9 or 10 years old and had no problem beating airman once I got the hang of dodging the tornadoes

Beating airman with the regular cannon is kind of a matter of mashing shots out before he shoots out his tornados and then hoping you can jump over most of them. While he's often considered to be the easiest to start with, I always found airman to be a bit too random. I always started the game fighting Metal Man, partly because his weapon is the best subweapon in the game, but also because if you keep to the left side of the arena and jump over his attacks he's not too hard to chip down with the default cannon. From there, Metal Man's weapon makes quick work of Woodman, which you can then use against against Airman. Best of luck, these games are all about finding which boss you personally find easiest to take out first and then exploiting the weaknesses of the rest.
